Emma R. Locatelli was awarded the 2014 Winifred Goldring Award by the Association for Women Geoscientists. The award is named after Winifred Goldring, a pioneering woman paleontologist with a special interest in paleobotany, who became State Paleontologist of New York State in 1939 and the first female president of the Paleontological Society in 1949, and is awarded to an outstanding female student pursuing a degree in paleontology.
